ARMS Black Lung Clinic has an active outreach program in the state of Alabama designed to educate the public and reach those in need. ARMS Black Lung Clinic Program is designed to seek out active and retired miners and other individuals with COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and other occupationally related lung diseases such as asthma, chronic bronchitis, and emphysema. Screenings such as chest x-rays, EKGs, breathing tests, blood work and a medical exam with a Pulmonologist are all performed at our Metro location. ARMS then partners with the U.S. Department of Labor, the Division of Coal Mine Workers’ Compensation, to determine eligibility for benefits. ARMS not only offers services to the residents of Jefferson County but to the entire state of Alabama.
ARMS Black Lung Clinic is Alabama’s only Black Lung Clinic in the state.
