DIABETIC TESTING & TREATMENT

Diabetic tests are performed on all patients displaying the possible signs of diabetes. If a patient tests positive for diabetes, the doctor immediately:

• Educates the patient on diabetes;
• Informs the patient of changes that will have to be made to his or her diet;
• Prescribes the necessary medications to maintain control of the disease; and
• Begins testing, annually, for diabetes and related health problems.
