Erika Harris, MD, MPH (CHES 2013)
Chief Medical Officer (CMO)
Dr. Erika Harris joined Alabama Regional Medical Services in September 2021. She provides services in the field of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the Northern Health Center and the Crestwood Medical Center.
She is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, and was educated in the Birmingham City School System. Dr. Harris graduated with an advanced diploma from Ramsay Alternative High School and continued her education at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biological Sciences, and a Minor in Liberal Arts (cum laude). At Southern Illinois University, she completed MEDPREP post-baccalaureate program, obtained a Master of Public Health in Community Health Education, and became a certified health education specialist (CHES). Dr. Harris then attended the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where she earned her Medical Doctorate Degree. She subsequently completed a residency at Eastern Carolina University/Vidant Medical Center in Internal Medicine/Pediatrics and served 2 years as the Med-Peds chief resident during her training.
In her spare time, she enjoys exploring new places and spending time with her husband, son, and family. She has an interest in mentoring youth, preventative care, and educating her patients about healthy lifestyles and wellness.

Chelsea Amerson, Pharm.D., BCMTMS- Northern Health Center
Dr. Chelsea Amerson joined Alabama Regional Medical Services in March, 2025, and is a Pharmacist at the Rapid Care Pharmacy II, in the Northern Health Center.
In May of 2012, Dr. Amerson graduated from Gadsden City High School, with the Advanced Academic with Honors Diploma. Immediately following high school, she went on to Xavier University of Louisiana in New Orleans where she was awarded an academic scholarship along with an athletic scholarship, for Track & Field. In May of 2018, Dr. Amerson obtained her Pharm.D. from Xavier University of Louisiana’s College of Pharmacy. Determined to better serve her community while actively participating in the advancement of her profession, she obtained her Board Certification in Medication Therapy Management in June of 2023.
She has a solid background in 340B, retail pharmacy operations, and prior authorization processes. She has always had a passion for serving the underserved in healthcare. Dr. Amerson is an active member at her church, serving alongside her husband in the Family Ministry. When the workday ends, she enjoys unwinding through reading, crocheting, working out, and spending quality time with her husband, daughter, and family.

Molleen Desai, MPH, MSN, CRNP, FNP-C
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Molleen Desai obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing at Livingston University (1990), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (1994) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She had many different nursing experiences prior to obtaining her Master of Public Health and Master of Science in Nursing Degree (1998) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Ms. Desai holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Ms. Desai provides primary care services at our weekly Mobile Health Unit Events, which include the following sites, as well as others: the Bessemer Housing Authority, the Salvation Army, Olivia’s House and City Walk. Twice a month, she provides primary care services at the ARMS Crestwood Medical Center.

Katherine Harrison, DNP, NP-C
Family Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Katherine Harrison joined Alabama Regional Medical Services in July, 2012, and serves patients at our Crestwood Medical Center.
She attended Central Alabama Community College where she obtained an Associate Degree, in Nursing, in 2001. She completed her undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate studies from the Ida Moffett School of Nursing at Samford University. Her follow on degree is a Masters in Advanced Practice Nursing (APN).
Dr. Harrison is certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner and she obtained two doctorate degrees from Samford: Doctorate of Advanced Nursing Practice, with a focus in Pediatrics, and the second is a Doctorate of Nursing Education with a Certificate in Education.

Arthur McAdams, PA
Physician Assistant
Arthur McAdams joined ARMS in February, 2013, and serves patients at our Ensley Health Center and Crestwood Medical Center.
Mr. McAdams earned his B.S. in Biology at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1985. After working as a Lab Instructor at UAB for 7 years, Arthur pursued his PA license and completed his Masters in Medical Science at Emory University in 1996. Following graduation, he worked as a Physician Assistant in Greene County, Alabama for two years. It’s there where Arthur first established ties serving families in a small community.

Ivory Robinson, DNP
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Ivory Robinson joined Alabama Regional Medical Services in January, 2019, and provides Adult Medicine services at our Metro Health Center.
Dr.. Robinson obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology Degree (2009) and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (2009), both from Stillman College, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Her Master of Science in Nursing Degree (2018), was obtained from Chamberlain University, in Downers Grove, Illinois. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the Alabama Board of Nursing, and is also BLS Certified.

Hanna Shelton, Pharm.D.
Director of Pharmacy Services – Metro Health Center
Dr. Hannah Shelton was promoted to Director of Pharmacy Services on June 12, 2025, and is a Pharmacist at the Rapid Care Pharmacy I, in the Metro Health Center.
In May of 2013, Dr. Shelton graduated from Hewitt-Trussville High School and completed her prerequisite studies at the University at Alabama Birmingham. She obtained her BS from the Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama, in August, 2015. In May, 2019, Dr. Shelton obtained her Pharm.D. from the McWhorter School of Pharmacy of Samford University.
She has a background in independent community pharmacy and has a passion for providing quality patient care to patients across all walks of life. She has an interest in mission work and enjoys precepting students from both Harrison School of Pharmacy and McWhorter School of Pharmacy.
In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering for her church’s worship team and spending time with her husband, daughter, and family.

Brianne Smith, MSN, CRNP,

Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Brianne Smith obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (2007) from Mercer University in Atlanta, Georgia. She was an emergency room nurse prior to obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing Degree (2012) from Kennesaw State University in Atlanta. Mrs. Smith holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
Mrs. Smith provides primary care services at our weekly Mobile Health Unit Events, which include the following sites, as well as others: the Bessemer Housing Authority, First Light Women’s and Childrens’ Shelter, and the Highlands United Methodist Church. Every other Tuesday afternoon, she provides primary care services at the ARMS Crestwood Medical Center.
Cortessia Sullivan DNP, FNP-BC, AGACNP-BC
Certified Family and Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Cortessia Sullivan joined ARMS in December 2023. She is a board-certified Family and Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 5 years of experience caring for medically complex patients in the outpatient setting.
In 2013, Dr. Sullivan obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of Alabama and began her career as a critical care nurse. She obtained her dual role Masters of Science in Nursing Degree (2018) and her Doctorate in Nursing Degree (2020) from the University of South Alabama. Dr. Sullivan holds both national certifications with the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, and volunteering with the youth ministry at her church.

Nicole Thomas, DNP
Family Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Nicole Thomas is a skilled Nurse Practitioner with a diverse background in family care. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with honors from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in 2014. She completed her Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP), becoming board-certified by the National Certification Corporation (NCC).
After gaining experience as a registered nurse for seven years in gynecology/oncology, trauma/burn care, plastics, transplant, medical/surgical cardiac, and as a travel nurse, Dr. Thomas further advanced her expertise by earning a Post-Master’s Certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from the University of North Alabama in 2024 and became board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is also certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Dr. Marshall A. Williams, DDS
Staff Dentist at Alabama Regional Medical Services
Dr. Marshall A. Williams became a part of the Alabama Regional Medical Services family in July 2023, offering his expertise to patients at Northside Dental Care. A dedicated professional in dental health, Dr. Williams holds a B.A. in Biology from Fisk University and completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) at Meharry Medical College in 1981.
Commissioned by the National Health Service Corps, Lt. Williams initially established dental services at the J.W. Stewart Neighborhood Health Clinic in Gadsden, Alabama. In 1985, he began serving his childhood community with the opening of North Birmingham Dental Care and now continues his passion for community dental health with ARMS.
Dr. Williams’s commitment to his profession is evident in his active participation in several professional organizations, including serving as president and treasurer for both the Alabama Dental Society Zone One and the Alabama Dental Society. He also holds membership in the Alabama Dental Association, National Dental Association, and American Dental Association, and has contributed his leadership skills as president and Secretary-treasurer of the Board of Dental Examiners of Alabama and the Board of Dental Scholarships of Alabama.
Beyond his professional duties, Dr. Williams is deeply involved in his community as a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, a board member of Historical Bethel Baptist Church, and as an educator at Collegeville Church of Christ.
Dr. Williams’s professional and community service have not gone unnoticed; his accolades include being recognized as one of the Outstanding Young Men of America, receiving a Certificate of Outstanding Professional Achievement from the Governor of Alabama, and an Award for participation in the Rural Health Conference. Additionally, he was appointed as a Dental Officer in the United States Public Health Service by the President of the United States and received an Award for Scholastic Excellence from the Jefferson County Chapter/University of Alabama Alumni Association.
