National Community Health Center Week

August 6, 2021 by Administrator

Happy National Community Health Center Week – 2021! This is an annual celebration to raise awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s community health centers, that are being celebrated for what they do for their communities. For the past five decades, community health centers have strived to bring quality healthcare to those underserved regardless of race, gender, language, disability, or status. ARMS is no different and we would like to celebrate our efforts alongside so many other healthcare centers across the country.

This year’s theme is “The Chemistry for Strong Communities”. We agree that community health centers help build strong communities by promoting health and safety. Each day we will be highlighting different aspects that community health centers bring to their communities, from healthcare for the homeless to serving migrant and seasonal agricultural workers.

This year’s celebration is even more important because of each community health center’s role during the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ve served Birmingham, faithfully, throughout the pandemic, from relaying information regarding COVID-19 to distributing vaccines to those in need at several pop-up clinics.

We are dedicated to the communities that we serve and strive to advocate for our communities and bring quality healthcare to anyone who needs it. Our mission is to provide quality healthcare and related services to all communities, including underserved and homeless persons, regardless of language, culture, or financial barriers. More than just providing medical services, we have been fighting at the forefront of this pandemic by distributing COVID-19 vaccines to local communities. We wanted to break down the barrier of accessibility by providing COVID-19 vaccines to those who are in need, as everyone deserves the opportunity to be vaccinated.

National Community Health Center Week is a great time to thank your local Community Health Center and celebrate all that they contribute to each community. Rest assured that ARMS continues its work in being an advocate for all of our patients! To keep up with this week’s focus days, visit our social media pages.
